Summary: We collect what we need to run your IELTS practice: your Google name, email and photo, the username you choose, and your answers, essays, spoken answers and results. Other learners see your public profile, but never your voice recordings, and your answers only if you choose to share them. Speaking Room video goes directly between browsers and is not recorded. We do not sell your data, show advertising or use tracking cookies. You can delete your account and all its data yourself at any time.

4. What other learners can see
When you are signed in, other signed-in learners can see:
- your name, username and Google profile photo;
- your level, best band in each section and best full mock band;
- your points, leaderboard ranks, current and best streak, and Daily English progress;
- your recently finished tests with their bands (titles and bands only, unless you share your results);
- your activity grid, unless you hide it in Settings → Privacy;
- how many friends you have and who they are;
- in a Speaking Room session, your partner sees your estimated band for that session, and sees and hears you during the call.
Sharing your test results
In Settings, Who can open my test results can be Only me (the default), Friends or Everyone. Those you allow can open your finished tests from your profile and review your answers and marks, your essays with their estimated scores and the transcripts of your Speaking answers. You can change this at any time; it applies straight away.
Important: Whatever you choose, other learners can never hear your voice recordings or see your feedback messages, your email address or tests you have not finished.
5. Microphone, camera and speech-to-text
5.1 Speaking tests
Speaking tests use your microphone only after your browser asks for, and you give, permission. Each spoken answer is recorded and uploaded to Mockfy so that you can listen to it on your results page. To turn your speech into text, Mockfy sends the recording to our speech-to-text provider (see Subprocessors), which returns the text; the provider deletes the job once the text has been returned. Your browser's own speech recognition may also be used where it is available.
5.2 Speaking Room
- Camera and microphone are used only after you give permission, and only during a session.
- Video and audio travel directly between your browser and your partner's browser (peer-to-peer, using WebRTC). They do not get stored on Mockfy's servers, and we do not record calls. When a direct route is not possible, the encrypted call may be relayed through a TURN server, which passes it on without being able to read or store it.
- To set up the connection, browsers exchange technical details, including IP addresses, through our server and public STUN servers. Your partner's browser may learn your IP address, as with any direct video call.
- When you are answering, your own answer is recorded in your browser and sent to Mockfy to be turned into text, as in 5.1. The text is kept so that we can estimate your band and show you your answers; the recording is not kept. Your partner sees your band but not your transcript.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to run Mockfy and remember your choices. See the Cookie Policy for the full list. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
7. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only:
- With other learners, as described in section 4.
- With service providers who help us run Mockfy and process data only on our instructions. They are listed in Subprocessors.
- With Mockfy administrators, a small number of team members who can view account details, results and feedback to support learners, check test quality and enforce our Terms. Every administrative action is recorded in an internal audit log.
- For legal reasons, if we must do so to comply with the law or a valid request from authorities, or to protect the rights, property or safety of learners, Mockfy or others.
- If Mockfy changes ownership, as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale. This Privacy Policy will continue to apply, and we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
8. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored and processed by our cloud providers on servers that may be outside your country, including outside the Republic of Uzbekistan. Where this happens, we take steps to make sure your information remains protected in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
