Section practice gives you single-section tests: a Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking test on its own. Use it to work on one skill at a time.
Choosing a test
Every test is listed on one line with its section, length, your band (if you have taken it) and its level.
| Level | Band range |
|---|---|
| Foundation | up to 5.0 |
| Intermediate | 5.5–6.0 |
| Upper | 6.5–7.0 |
| Advanced | 7.5 and above |
Filters
- Section: All sections, Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking.
- Level: any level, or one of the four above.
- Taken or not: all tests, only tests you have not taken, or only tests you have taken.
- Search: type any word from the title.
Recommended for you
Opens a short list of tests a little above your current level, so each one stretches you without being out of reach.
Pick One
The shuffle button next to the Solved ring picks an untaken test closest to your level, from the tests the filters show.
Solved ring
Shows how many of the listed tests you have finished.
Continue where you left off
Tests you started but did not finish appear with Resume, both here and on the Dashboard (the Dashboard shows the three most recent; See all lists the rest). You can also discard an unfinished attempt.
Retakes
Press Retake on a test you have finished. Retakes earn half the points and do not change your level.
